Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Computer Programmer to join our dynamic team, supporting Department of Navy in Quantico, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in programming languages and software development methodologies. As a Computer Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet our clients' needs. Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement software solutions using various programming languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
- Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in code reviews to enhance code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and project outcomes.
- Document software designs, processes, and user manuals for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C#, JavaScript, and VBA.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of RESTful services and API integration.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Understanding of quantum engineering concepts is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Specific Experience/Certification
- 4 years of programming experience with the maintenance or development of software programs/applications based in UNIX or C or other applicable computer programming languages.
- Three (3) years of experience, to include: Database development, Web page design, Computer Based Training development and using .NET tools and .net Integrated Development Environment tools, asp.net, SQL Server 2000, and HTML editor tools.
- Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Six (6) years of experience, to include: Software Design, Development, and Test and Evaluation.
- Individual shall be working towards the relevant certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties: Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification: Microsoft role-based certifications, Microsoft Certified Applicable s Developer (MCAD), Microsoft · Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), Cloud certifications, etc.
- Database development, Web page design, Computer Based Training development and using .NET tools and .net Integrated Development Environment tools, asp.net, SQL Server 2000, and HTML editor tools.
- Experience in programming languages such as Classic ASP, ASP, HTML/CSS, XML, M204, and Java is a plus to be able to understand the current system.
- Have experience with Microsoft Office software packages such as Word and Excel.
