Job Title: Database Administrator III | Exempt

Location: Fort Belvoir, Virginia 22060-5246

Clearance Level: Active DoD - Top Secret SCI

Required Certification(s): 

·         MCSA: SQL Server Certification

·         Security Certification

SUMMARY

This is a non-personal services contract to operate and maintain the Ground Intelligence Support Activity (GISA) and HQ INSCOM G6 Operations Division information technology networks and systems for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), a Direct Reporting Unit to Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-2, conducting intelligence, security and information operations for military commanders and national decision makers.

The Senior Database Administrator will be the senior technical expert for Remedy/SQL database design, development and management. Accountable for all aspects of Database services.



JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Provides administration, and management of database, clusteringg, and replication infrastructure (MS SQL Server) in development, quality control, pre- production, and production environments.

·         Provides pro-active monitoring of databases from performance and capability management perspectives.

·         Provides database maintenance activities such as backup/recovery, updates to service packs and patches, and optimization.

·         Ensures continuity of operations.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Certifications

·         MCSA: SQL Server Certification

·         Security Certification

Education, Background, and Years of Experience

·         Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in technology related field required.

·         Experience: Eight years’ hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration, design and development.

·         Substitute for minimum qualifications: Twelve years’ hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration, design and development. MCSA: SQL Server Certification

·         Security Certification

·         Skills: Has the communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.

·         Government building office on Army installation

Strength Demands

·         Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles.  Some occasional walking or standing may be required.   Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
