Job Description
- Database Administrator with 14-18 years of experience in Sybase database administration.
- Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high-availability strategies with Sybase / Oracle in a production environment.
- Administering, maintaining, developing, and recommending policies and procedures for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and integrity of the company’s databases and systems.
- Proactively monitoring production databases for optimum performance; resolving locking conflicts / blocking and resource utilization.
- Identifying and resolving database performance issues, capacity issues, and other database-related issues.
- Performing regular deployments, scheduled maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Anticipating hardware requirements and storage capacity planning for production, test, and development environments; implementing replication, archiving, and backup and recovery strategies.
- Ensuring availability and integrity of all database environments.
