Project Manager to lead our SAP S4/HANA Cloud ERP implementation effort. The successful candidate will establish and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), provide governance oversight, and partner with both SPS stakeholders and our implementation partner Phoenix Business Consulting (PBC). This role will ensure the successful delivery of the ERP implementation on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Initiation & Planning:
- Formalize and maintain the comprehensive project plan in collaboration with SPS and PBC
- Develop and manage the project charter, scope, and resource plan
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Establish project governance structure and control procedures
- Lead project kick-off activities
Project Execution:
- Facilitate weekly project status meetings with key stakeholders
- Coordinate and facilitate Steering Committee and Executive Sponsor meetings
- Provide governance and oversight of implementation vendor activities
- Manage project schedule, budget, resources, and scope
- Develop and maintain project documentation according to PMI standards
Project Control:
- Establish and manage a formal deliverable review process
- Implement change control procedures and manage change requests
- Identify, document, and monitor project risks and issues
- Develop and distribute regular project status reports
- Escalate issues appropriately to maintain project momentum
Project Closure:
- Manage execution of the cutover plan
- Coordinate go-live activities and provide post-go-live support
- Conduct post-implementation review
- Document lessons learned
- Ensure proper knowledge transfer to SPS staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience leading ERP implementations
- Demonstrated experience with public sector organizations
- Proven experience with full project lifecycle management from initiation through closure
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMBOK)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP S4/HANA implementations
- Experience with cloud-based ERP implementations
- Experience with K-12 education sector or large urban school districts
- Experience with organizational change management methodologies
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Agile certification
- Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party contracts
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
