Physical Therapist Technician

Position Summary:  

We are currently seeking an organized and attentive Physical Therapy Tech to join our team. Under the supervision of Physical Therapists, the ideal candidate will work to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your duties will include operational tasks including patient intake and preparation, observation and documentation, among other clinic maintenance responsibilities. 

Responsibilities:

• Supporting Physical Therapists in preparing treatment area, equipment, and materials for patient care.
• Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
• Under the direction of the Physical Therapists, assisting patients with exercises (in addition to walking, sitting, standing, etc.), helping with transfers, and providing support during treatments.
• Educating patients regarding physical therapy treatments and exercises, including proper use of equipment.
• Observing patients performing prescribed physical exercises and immediately reporting concerns.
• Documenting patients' responses to treatment and updating patient files.
• Performing basic prescribed treatments such as applying ice packs or heat pads as instructed.
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and therapy areas, ensuring clinic is in compliance with safety and sanitation protocols
• Performing administrative tasks, including ordering supplies, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments as necessary.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Outpatient or previous healthcare setting experience is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Salary:  

• Starting compensation range $21.00 - $24.00 hourly rate. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
