POSITION SUMMARY

The Commissions Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire agent and agency payment lifecycle at Agility Insurance Services. This role provides leadership and direction to both the Commissions Processing Specialists-who manage override compensation agreements, commission calculations, reconciliations, and postings-and the Commissions Advocacy Specialists-who coordinate with agents and carriers to resolve commission discrepancies. The Commissions Program Manager will ensure the accuracy of payments, maintain high service standards, streamline processes, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.

KEY RESONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to Commissions Processing Specialists and commissions Advocacy Representatives.
  • Encourage professional growth through ongoing training, goal-setting, and collaboration within the team.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent to build a high-performing department.

Process Management & Optimization :

  • Establish and refine workflows for commission data collection, calculation, reconciliation, and resolution.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote and enforce standardized procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in commission handling.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination :

  • Partner with Contracting, Accounting, Legal, and IT teams to ensure seamless data flow and alignment on contract terms, commission rates, and financial reconciliation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with carrier representatives, facilitating escalations, audits, and process enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership on departmental progress, key challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance :

  • Ensure all commission processes meet internal policies, carrier guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and spot checks to verify data accuracy, agent payments, and timely issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain robust documentation for policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Reporting & Analytics :

  • Oversee the generation of timely commission reports for internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and finance teams.
  • Analyze trends in commission data, identifying patterns that could indicate process inefficiencies or emerging business opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership for optimizing commission structures, partner relationships, and agent engagement strategies.

    Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in commission management, finance, or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, life, and / or health insurance commission structures within an FMO or similar environment is highly preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience, overseeing direct reports or small teams.
  • Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with commission tracking or accounting software (e.g., Salesforce, QuickBooks, or similar tools)>
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of diagnosing workflow bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with internal teams, carriers, and senior leadership.

  • What We Offer

  • Base Salary : $90,000 - $110,000 based on prior experience with potential for performance-based incentives.
