Job Title: Senior Product Manager / Director of Product Management

Salary / Pay Rate: $110,000–$165,000 annually 20% bonus potential

Location: Cary, NC (Onsite 4 days per week; relocation required within 6 months)

Our client is a key player in the transportation and logistics industry, specializing in innovative software solutions that drive efficiency and value for freight rail operations. They are seeking a Senior Product Manager or Director of Product Management to lead a portfolio of SaaS products tailored to the freight rail industry. This highly visible role combines strategic vision with operational execution, offering opportunities to influence market strategies and deliver impactful solutions.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Leading the development and execution of product strategies, including market research, competitor analysis, and customer engagement to identify growth opportunities.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT developers, stakeholders, and customers, to deliver high-quality products and enhancements.
• Managing product roadmaps and project prioritization to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Overseeing P&L responsibilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and achieving revenue and expense targets.
• Documenting and maintaining processes, such as risk mitigation strategies, ROI analysis, and customer satisfaction tracking.

Here’s what our ideal candidate has:

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in product management, with a strong focus on SaaS solutions.
• Deep understanding of the North American freight rail industry, including operations, logistics, or selling software solutions to railroads or shippers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with product modeling.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (MBA preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with transportation/logistics management systems (TMS) or asset maintenance solutions.
• Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and managing cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications in Agile/Scrum, product management, or project management.
