Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Program Management to lead their company-wide program management function.
Location: This role will be based in Cedar Park, Texas with up to 25% travel.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Lead a responsive program management function, proactively identifying potential challenges and implementing solutions to ensure on-time execution and achievement of deadlines.
- Drive the yearly program management goals of the company, ensuring alignment and cascading objectives throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with leadership and functional teams to define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Monitor program progress, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering and other technical teams to ensure projects are technically sound and feasible.
- Champion the use of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Scrum framework, two-week sprints, tracking tools) to drive accountability and transparency.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment, motivating the team to achieve ambitious goals.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to program management staff.
Here is what our ideal candidate has:
- Experience as a Program Manager Leader or Director-level experience is required.
- 8 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex hardware and software projects.
- Experience at smaller companies, rather than large, established corporations is required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, ideally within industries such as aerospace, robotics, or other technically complex fields.
- Deep understanding and appreciation for the technical aspects of product development, with the ability to engage effectively with technical leaders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to work a demanding schedule to achieve critical objectives.
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
