This is Charlotte, Sr. Healthcare Recruiter with Prime Physicians. One of our federal clients, Indian Health Service (IHS), is currently seeking an Clinical Laboratory Scientist for an assignment in Crown point, NM.
Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Crown point, NM 87313
Shift Timings: Mon - Fri 8a-6p (10 hours)
Start date: Jun 2025
Duration: 1 Year or Full time (options for 13 weeks contract)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or associate's degree in medical technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science or a primary science (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.)
Experience: must have a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience as a generalist medical technologist
License: Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist, or as a Clinical Lab Scientist by the appropriate agency (ASCP, AMT, AAB).
Certification: BLS
Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret a variety of clinical laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, urinalysis, and blood banking, using both standardized and non-standardized procedures.
- Conduct blood draws (venipuncture and capillary puncture) and provide instruction to patients and staff on the correct collection and preservation of specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy through regular calibration, preventive maintenance, and performance testing.
- Develop new test methods, establish quality control standards, and adapt laboratory procedures to meet clinical requirements.
- Maintain compliance with CNIS and TJC regulations, document test results, and prepare reports on findings while observing critical testing conditions.

Pay: $68.22 - $71.37 per hour
