Description: As a Cybersecurity Professional, you will be a critical member of our team, responsible for safeguarding our information systems and data for a Government client. You will leverage your extensive experience and deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies to implement and maintain robust security measures. You will be responsible for coordinating with Government security policies and working with various teams on assigned tasks related to system administration, security analysis, vulnerability assessment, and information systems security management. Prior work experience with the Federal Government is preferred, along with the preferred skills suggested below.
Cybersecurity Professional Job Duties:
Implement and manage security controls and measures in accordance with Government security policies and best practices.
- Administer and maintain secure operating systems, applications, and network devices.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including security plans, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and monitor security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Perform system administration tasks with a strong focus on security hardening and compliance.
- Conduct security assessments and analysis of systems and applications to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Recommend and implement security configuration changes to mitigate identified risks.
- Conduct or support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities to identify security weaknesses.
- Analyze vulnerability scan results and recommend remediation strategies.
- Track and manage the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's overall cybersecurity strategy.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards.
- Participate in security audits and assessments.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate security into all aspects of system design and implementation.
Security Clearance Requirements: Active Secret (S) required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying.
Experience Requirements: 10 years of recent relevant experience OR five years of which in Computer Science AND five years in a related field or 10 years in an engineering related discipline.
Education Requirements: Minimum bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in information security, cybersecurity, computer engineering, computer science, or closely related technical field; or the equivalent combination of experience and training related to task scope and objectives.
