What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Analyst position at Agility Partners?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Research Specialist to join our team and provide essential support for payroll activities and high-priority projects across the United States. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring payroll accuracy and timely processing by assisting managers and serving as the second level of support for various payroll inquiries. The role is based at our Charlotte headquarters with a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide second-level support by researching and resolving work orders from the Customer Service team.
- Assist Customer Service Associates as needed, particularly with incoming calls related to payroll inquiries.
- Mentor and coach associates on work order resolution, reviewing activity logs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct real-time root cause analysis to identify issues and develop new preventive solutions.
- Ensure a strong understanding of payroll policies and procedures and apply them consistently.
- Utilize payroll applications (SAP, MySTAFF, MyRequests, etc.) and recommend improvements based on findings.
- Implement process reviews, document current procedures, automate manual tasks, and eliminate unnecessary or outdated processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce workload volumes and improve accuracy in time and attendance systems.
- Monitor time and attendance submission errors and focus on reducing off-cycle counts.
- Assist with audit reviews, collaborating with other payroll teams to improve existing audits and create new ones.
- Prepare and deliver planned training sessions for weekly operations meetings.
- Perform backup responsibilities for various payroll projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- 1 year of experience in customer service or call center roles; experience in a large-volume payroll environment is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook).
- SAP Payroll experience is strongly preferred.
