Key Responsibilities
- Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Verify and reconcile invoice details against purchase orders and contracts
- Maintain and update vendor files and contact information
- Prepare and process payment checks and electronic fund transfers
- Resolve vendor invoice discrepancies and communicate with vendors as needed
- Manage the accounts payable filing system, both digital and physical
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting close procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Ensure compliance with firm's financial policies and procedures
- Prepare periodic reports on accounts payable activity
- Assist with audit preparations and provide documentation as required
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a law firm environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional communication abilities
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in a law firm accounting department
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification
