About the role
The Facility Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing or working with licensed contractors performing routine maintenance, repair, and modification of interior and exterior building systems.
About the work
- Performs preventative and reactive maintenance on building systems while developing and refining preventative maintenance process
- Reviews drawings and specifications, operations and maintenance instructions, and uses mechanical/electrical knowledge to determine repair parts and process
- Records, tracks, and reports inspection results for operating equipment and contractor performance; initiates corrective actions as required
- Ensures tools, equipment, and space are maintained in neat and operational condition
- Collaborates with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality as needed
- Build, assemble, and assist with moving furniture and equipment
- Perform 5S duties to support other departments and support overall building appearance
About you
- 3-5 years experience performing maintenance on residential or commercial buildings as a building/property maintenance technician or similar experience in equipment maintenance
- Hands on abilities with safe operation of basic power tools (such as electric drills, drill press, saws, grinders, pneumatic and hydraulic tools)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Highly customer oriented and desire to be part of a collaborative team
- Proficient using Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Formal trades, construction education or licencing
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System or equivalent for parts ordering, scheduling, reporting, and documenting work
- Kaizen, Lean, Six-sigma knowledge or other continuous improvement experience
- BIM, BAS or other Distributed Digital Controls experience
- Jira/Confluence software experience
- Machining and metal fabrication skills
- Familiarity with shop floor safety protocols (LOTO, hazardous materials, etc.)
