The Renewal Specialist plays a critical role in the fulfillment of customer agreements and timely invoicing for all maintenance/support items including SaaS and proprietary as well as third party.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate all facets of renewal contracts. Develop win-win negotiation strategies that maximize contract value while enhancing the customer relationship and the value they receive from their product.
- Engage customers in conversations around renewal readiness, timing, and general customer needs.
- Partner with Support and Customer Success organizations to review customer value achievement and achieve high product adoption and use.
- Provide management with regular and accurate forecast updates on renewal status and escalate when needed.
- Identify customer needs and demonstrate account management capabilities to guide renewal closure.
- Maintain an understanding of product licensing models to provide sales and customer assistance in licensing discussions.
- Drive and own the renewal processes in collaboration, from reach out and negotiation to confirmation.
- Work closely with the Customer Success, Finance, and Sales teams to retain customer contracts, secure renewal, and support the accounts’ growth.
- Maintain a rolling 120-day renewal forecast by segment and/or territory
- Enhance the renewals process playbook to maximize account and ARR retention
- Handle escalations relating to contract questions, negotiations, and requests
- Identify Process gaps to improve efficiency
Requirements:
- 2 years of relevant experience in a client-facing role, ideally in SaaS companies
- Effective communicator, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Motivated, driven and results-oriented
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, energetic team player
Experience is a plus:
- Proven experience with owning a renewal process E2E
- Experience in working closely with cross-functional teams (sales, finance, legal, Professional Services) to reach primary goals
- Reporting a rolling 120-day renewal forecast by segment and/or territory
- Handling escalations relating to contract questions, negotiations, and requests
- Approaches work with empathy and a creative, problem-solving mindset
