Currently, we are looking for like-minded caring and devoted caregivers who are passionate about improving the lives of these Veterans and private care individuals. Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
- Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
- Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
- Assist with planning and preparing meals
- Help with physical therapy exercises
- Perform cognitive exercises with clients
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Report any unusual incidents and changes in the health status of the client
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Offer activities that are essential for daily living
- Suggest and participate in activities that are engaging and enriching for the client
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with the physical capability to perform job-related duties
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
- Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
- Prior experience in healthcare or in-home care environment
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
- Take pride in providing high-quality care
- Eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
- Reliability, punctuality, dependability
