Responsibilities
Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
Assist with planning and preparing meals
Help with physical therapy exercises
Perform cognitive exercises with clients
Perform housekeeping duties
Report any unusual incidents and changes in the health status of the client
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Offer activities that are essential for daily living
Suggest and participate in activities that are engaging and enriching for the client
- Dependable and punctual
- Must be able to tolerate an environment which allows smoking
Qualifications
Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting
Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with the physical capability to perform job-related duties
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
Prior experience in healthcare or in-home care environment
Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
High School Diploma or equivalent / Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
Take pride in providing high-quality care
Eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
Reliability, punctuality, dependability
