Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Director, Global Scientific Training & Development to join our growing Medical Affairs team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who's driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Director, Global Scientific Training & Development will be responsible for ensuring that our Medical Affairs colleagues have the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their positions by working with cross functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of disease state and product training, both during onboarding and an ongoing basis. This includes development and maintenance of training resources, coordinating external speakers to speak on topics relevant to our team, vendor management, planning and executing pre-congress trainings, supporting monthly learning opportunities through journal clubs and the literature newsletter, and developing solutions to better support the information needs of our internal and field colleagues. In addition, the Director will support Commercial Training needs for both new hire training and POA planning as requested.
What you will do :
- Develop, implement, and manage onboarding and ongoing training programs for field MSL team and in house Medical Affairs staff in a manner consistent with best practices and applicable laws, regulations, and relevant SOPs.
- Partner with Medical Strategy, Med Affairs Ops, MSLs, Publications / Sci Comm, Medical Information, Patient Advocacy, HEOR, Clinical Development, Translational Research, Biology Research, and external clinical experts to develop and implement training programs, aligning strategy and messaging consistent with global scientific platform and other corporate messaging
- Deliver new hire training and continuing product and disease state education to MSLs and all Medical Affairs, as well as sharing resources with others throughout R&D
- Design, plan and deliver training workshops and support MSL POAs
- Develop and update medical content for training in coordination with the Medical Strategy and Publications / Sci Com
- Facilitate the review and approval of training materials and Q&A documents
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with MSLs and management / internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization
- Maintain documentation of key training events
- Develop / employ tools to assess effectiveness of training programs
- Bring innovative ideas on how best to maintain and share information with our internal and field teams
- Manage vendors in all aspects of working relationship

Work Location :
Location Agnostic : Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events / meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.
