Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Bioanalytical Scientist (Student intern) to join our DMPK team from June 9 th – August 15 th , 2025. We want someone who cares about our mission of developing new therapies for patients with rare diseases. The Student Intern will work onsite in Cambridge, MA and will work on LC-MS/MS method development and sample analysis for drugs and biomarkers in biological samples including plasma, blood, and other tissues. The position will involve the use of state-of-the-art instruments and allow the intern to experience the scientific challenges involved in pharmaceutical bioanalysis. Careful documentation, best practices, and calculations will also be required/taught as needed.

What you will do under supervision:
- Learn and perform sample preparation and LC-MS/MS method development and sample analysis for drugs and biomarkers based on mentor suggestions and scientific literature
- Learn/troubleshoot the basic principles of analytical chromatography
- Apply learnings to analyze blood microsamples with the goal of reducing animal use in preclinical studies and to reduce invasiveness of blood draws in clinical studies
- Analyze and interpret bioanalytical results, and deliver accurate and reliable data
- Use basic calculation functions in Excel and record data in an electronic laboratory notebook
- Must be currently enrolled in an academic program
- Minimum education requirement: Bachelor’s degree with solid knowledge of basic chemistry calculations, direct experience working safely with chemicals, (e.g. personal protective equipment, accurately preparing solutions, adjusting pH) and some coursework in laboratory chemical or biochemical analysis
- Familiarity with the principles of LC-MS/MS analysis and basic understanding of biochemistry are beneficial. Hands on experience in LC-MS/MS is a plus.
- Ability to work respectfully with others in a professional laboratory and office space, and adhere to all company policies and procedures
