Description : Summary :
American General Media (AGM) Albuquerque is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee programming for a six FM station cluster that includes Rhythmic CHR (KKSS-FM) , Hot AC (KKRG-FM) , Mexican Regional (KLVO-FM) , Spanish Contemporary (KABG HD-2) , and have direct program direction for Classic Hits (KABG-FM) and Classic Rock (KIOT-FM) . The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of proven experience in radio programming leadership, especially within these formats, along with expertise in social media, streaming, and website content management. This role will also include performing a weekday on-air shift on KIOT-FM.
Requirements : Programming :
- Content Scheduling : Develop and manage daily and weekly programming, ensuring alignment with the station's format and target audience.
- On-Air Shifts : Perform daily or weekly on-air shifts as needed, maintaining a consistent, engaging, and professional presence.
- Syndication : Evaluate and recommend programming from distributors, syndicators, and independent producers.
- Music & Production : Oversee music selection and production, ensuring seamless integration with station format.
- Programming Compliance : Ensure all programming adheres to FCC regulations, including format rules and daypart scheduling.
Staff Supervision :
Hiring & Training : Select, hire, and train station staff in line with company EEO policies. Provide ongoing development and performance feedback.Team Leadership : Motivate and manage on-air and behind-the-scenes staff to meet station goals and improve performance.Scheduling : Create work schedules for station staff, including remote broadcast coordination.Staff Meetings : Conduct regular airchecks, team meetings, and one-on-ones to ensure communication, collaboration, and high performance.Station Administration :
Equipment Maintenance : Insure all equipment (studios, vehicles, remote broadcast equipment, etc…) is properly maintained.Safety & Security : Work with established vendors to maintain fire and security systems, make sure all state & county workplace safety regulations are adhered to.Station Promotions :
Event Coordination : Work closely with the Promotions Department to create and implement station events, giveaways, and other promotional activities.Collaboration : Partner with Sales and Promotions teams to maximize non-traditional revenue opportunities and ensure the station’s visibility in the market.Public Engagement : Represent the station in the local community, fostering positive relationships with clients, listeners, and community organizations.Regulatory Compliance :
FCC Compliance : Maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure the station adheres to all relevant FCC regulations. This includes filing necessary reports, updating the Public File, and ensuring on-air content complies with FCC standards.Public File : Update the Public File each quarter with required documentation such as public correspondence, issues / programs list, and other FCC-mandated filings.Digital Media & Streaming :
Social media & Website : Oversee station websites and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), ensuring content aligns with brand messaging. Regularly review metrics and engage with the audience online.Streaming : Manage the station’s streaming platforms, including the technical and reporting requirements (Sound Exchange, etc.). Stay informed about digital trends to keep the station’s digital presence relevant and impactful.Required Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience.5 years of experience in radio programming, especially in Classic Hits and Classic Rock formats.On-air experience is required, including familiarity with broadcasting software (Scott Studios, Selector, etc.).Skills :
Social media & Digital Expertise : Proficient in social media platforms and web content management systems (CMS), with a keen understanding of digital marketing strategies.Broadcasting : Solid technical skills with experience in radio production, automation systems, and on-air software.Leadership : Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to mentor and motivate staff.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (Spanish) a plus.Project Management : Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively.Certificates & Licenses :
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Must be insurable under the company’s insurance policy.Competencies :

Physical Demands : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; prolonged periods of computer and telephone use.Work Environment : Moderate noise levels typical of a radio station setting. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.On-Call & Flexibility : Must be on call 24 / 7 to respond to emergencies and station needs, including potential out-of-state travel for training or events.Additional Information :
