ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Please note that this is an on-site role, and remote work arrangements are not available. Candidates must be willing and able to work at our facility during designated working hours.
POSITION SUMMARY
AGM’s Production Assembler position works in a variety of different areas within AGM’s Production Department, including valve assembly, testing, desiccators, special packaging, and tie-down straps. This position is responsible for following engineering documentation, along with company policies and procedures, to produce products that meet established quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follows engineering drawings and material lists in order to assemble products as required.
- Inspects completed products to ensure all quality standards are met, per established guidelines.
- Operates various machinery and/or equipment that is used during the production process.
- Can work quickly and efficiently in order to maximize product output, while minimizing labor costs.
- Remains flexible with the ability to transition to new tasks frequently, and with minimal adjustment time.
- Completes all required job documentation promptly and accurately, according to company procedures.
- Always maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Follows AGM’s Quality Management System processes and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned by a manager from another department, as needed.
COMPETENCIES
To be successful in this position, the incumbent must be organized, detail-oriented, and can follow instructions. In addition, the incumbent would benefit from having some past assembly experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as some natural mechanical aptitude.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required; a minimum of one year of work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be permissible.
COMMUNICATION PROFICIENCY
Must be able to speak, read and write English effectively. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as engineering drawings, material lists, procedures and/or work instructions, safety requirements, and operating instructions. Must be able to complete basic job reports and required documentation. Must have the ability to clearly articulate information to individuals and groups.
MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE
Must have the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages in practical situations. Must also have a basic understanding of measurements, including how to read a ruler and/or tape measure.
COGNITIVE ABILITY AND REASONING
Must have the ability to think logically, apply job knowledge, and draw valid conclusions based on the given information. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will be required to see, speak and hear, sit and/or stand, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, including small parts and tools. Must be able to lift, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally may need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The core functions of this position will take place primarily in a manufacturing environment. The incumbent will be working with moving mechanical parts and machinery. Occasionally, the incumbent may be exposed to, or come in direct contact with, potentially hazardous chemicals or materials. All employees are expected to follow the proper safety procedures associated with their work area(s). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
