POSITION SUMMARY 

The Production Technician position requires the ability to effectively read and interpret all applicable prints, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and job traveler information. This position also requires the ability to set-up and operate all of AGM’s presses, part marking, laser printing machines, desiccant blending and granulating machines and all other applicable equipment. This position requires working closely with AGM’s Production Management Team to ensure machines and/or jobs are completed in a timely manner. 

Certain tasks require that the employee be 18 (eighteen) years of age or older. 

Employees who are in the “Regular” position are expected to uphold and abide by all Company policies and rules, including AGM’s “Courtesy and Professionalism Policy”.  As such, a Regular Employee is not only expected to incorporate the Courtesy and Professionalism Policy in their dealings with AGM Employees, but also in their dealings with AGM customers, vendors, and visitors. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  •  Knows how to set-up and operate all applicable production presses, part marking equipment and other applicable machinery in AGM’s multiple production areas. 
  •  Works closely with AGM’s Production Management Team to ensure that all the applicable equipment is set-up in a timely manner to meet job due dates.
  •  Is responsible for immediately notifying the appropriate personnel of any concerns with the function and/or safety of any production related equipment.
  •  Knows how to keep all applicable equipment clean and maintained in accordance with AGM’s standards.
  •  Knows how to read and interpret all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  •  At times this position requires the use of a respirator. As such, the operator must have the ability to use a respirator. As well as successfully complete AGM’s respirator training program.
  •  Regularly participates in the production of pressed desiccants, blending and granulation of desiccant powder.
  •  Knows how to properly mix and work with all part marking inks and other applicable chemicals, as well as assist with the production of all part marking functions.
  •  Ensures that the Quality Management System (QMS) production procedures are followed for all applicable products and equipment.
  •  Completes all necessary paperwork completely and accurately.  
  •  Keeps all applicable work areas clean and organized.
  •  Operates all machinery in accordance with Company safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
  •  Must be flexible with schedule changes, and regularly switching from one job to another.
  •  Maintains a satisfactory attendance and punctuality record.
  •  Other duties may be assigned by a Manager in other areas or departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess some mechanical aptitude, be capable of using hands to work with small parts and be able to use hand tools and measuring devices.  This position also requires reading numbers and instructions from print packages.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Must be able to speak, read and write excellent English in an effective manner.  Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.  Must have ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  

Must be able to effectively present oral information and respond to questions from individuals and small groups including managers, employees and customers. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or drawing form.  Must have ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.   

REASONING ABILITY 

Must be able to solve practical problems.   Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and sit.  The employee is also required to stand, walk, and use fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to and including 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  Good eyesight with or without correction is required as well as good hand coordination.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working around moving mechanical parts or machines.   In addition, the employee is exposed to, and may come in direct contact with potentially hazardous chemicals or materials.  The employee will need to learn the proper procedures for storing and transporting chemicals, some of which may be considered hazardous and learn the proper procedures for working with electrical equipment to reduce the risk of electrical shock.  The assembly area is moderate to loud.

Please note that this is an on-site role, and remote work arrangements are not available. Candidates must be willing and able to work at our facility during designated working hours. 

 
 

 


Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with 30 minutes for lunch.
40 hours per week.
