Position Description
Executing Tests & Experiments
- Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing
- Operate furnaces, hot plates, milling equipment, precision balances, etc.
- Follow safety protocols and report unsafe conditions when executing tests.
- Conduct acid digestion procedures for sample dissolution per standards.
- Plan / execute experiments to evaluate materials and optimize processing parameters.
Data Capture, Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, record, and transcribe data from experiments, weighing, and testing.
- Perform calculations and generate tables, charts, and graphs for findings.
- Create technical reports, with test results, anomalies, and insights.
- Communicate exceptions and escalate issues to ensure process integrity.
Laboratory Operations & Maintenance
- Maintain / calibrate lab equipment, i.e., furnaces, mills, and analytical balances.
- Ensure storage, labeling, and organization of materials, samples, and reagents.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements for laboratory processes.
- Provide feedback to Engineers on testing strategies and potential test issues.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to safety standards, i.e., PPE usage, chemical handling, waste disposal.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in safety training and proactively contribute to workplace safety.
