General Summary: Reports to Director of Financial Aid and leads the graduate and post- baccalaureate financial aid process at Agnes Scott College, in compliance with federal, state, and College policies and procedures. Leads graduate and post-baccalaureate financial aid to ensure policy compliance, accurate and timely financial aid processing, and leadership of financial aid-based recruitment and retention activities. Collaborates closely with the Office of Graduate Enrollment and Admission.
Essential Job Functions:
Policy and Compliance
- Ensures compliance in the packaging and disbursement of funds for graduate-level financial aid, graduate student financial aid appeals, compliance with R2T4, SAP, verification, SAR C-codes for new and continuing graduate students, and routine audits.
Financial Aid Program Management: Customer Service, Organization, Packaging and Processing
- Administers federal student loan programs and processes for graduate and post-baccalaureate student loan applications for new and returning students. Manages the packaging, processing and awarding of federal and privately funded loan programs, internal and external assistantships, grants and scholarships, and veteran's programs for all of Agnes Scott's graduate and post-baccalaureate students, to determine eligibility, verify accuracy of data, and compute need.
- Provides financial aid counseling to graduate and post-baccalaureate students.
- Manages appeal functions for current students.
- Oversees graduate assistantship, grant and scholarship awards for admitted and continuing grad/post-bacc students to accomplish institutional enrollment goals.
- Collaborates with the current financial aid team on programmatic issues related to loan reconciliation, overall reporting, and other processes as determined by the Director of Financial Aid.
Recruitment & Retention: Promoting and Educating Financial Wellness
- Collaborates with the Office of Graduate Enrollment and Admission with the development of reports, events, webinars, and communications supporting student financial wellness to prospective, new and current grad/post-baccalaureate students.
- Supports the graduate and post-bacc students during the recruitment, admission and retention process on an as-needed basis.
- Manages one-on-one communication while always maintaining the highest level of customer service.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in related occupational field of study.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of financial aid experience in financial aid, preference of 5 years
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Windows, Word, and Excel, and electronic mail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office.
