Embodies NGN Leadership Values - Leads by example in exuding NGN’s values: equality, fairness, consistency, being proactive, people first, stick to the facts, diplomacy, collaboration, and lead not boss.
Leadership Values
Equality - Approach all aspects of leading with equality. This means: no favorites, no friends, no inner circle, no loyalty mobs. Everyone has equal opportunity to thrive in the workplace and is empowered to grow and develop in their career at NGN.
Fairness - Everyone is on a level playing field and should be treated fairly and justly.
Consistency - Stick to plans and schedules. Build training and tools so work can be done with consistent levels of quality. Schedule 1:1s and give feedback and warnings and other disciplinary communications the same way for everyone every time. Follow standard operating procedures, NGN processes and policies with consistency.
Prioritize - Plan ahead and be proactive in your plans for yourself and your team. Prioritize key activities to lead your teams to success, while prioritizing people and product quality equal to quotas and revenue. Your teams and communications are what make the business work or not work as much as the revenue coming in. Put people first. Make solid plans that prioritize leading your team, the product quality, successful outcomes, and customer happiness at the top of your list.
Proactive - Lead proactively by having a plan, continuously learning and growing your skill set, and executing on your plans, while making adjustments along the way. Address issues quickly using The Leader’s Toolkit and lead using the values and attributes of a leader.
Benefit of the doubt - Master the art of balancing your judgements and opinions with facts. Facts come first. Always approach people by giving them the benefit of the doubt until you have clear documentation and proof otherwise. This empowers people and promotes a positive work environment free of harsh judgements and criticism that lower morale and negatively impact productivity.
Kill Gossip - Stop gossip in its tracks and don’t partake in it. You are a fact finder, a diplomat, a leader and a collaborator. These are your superpowers, and gossip is a toxic virus that spreads throughout people. Keep the workplace positive, supportive, motivational and empowering and collaborative.
Lead - Be conscious of how you lead and lead by example. “Manage like a boss” or “be a boss” are some popular phrases for people trying to sound important, and feel recognized and respected. Be a leader, that’s much harder and a highly sought skill gains that respect, doesn’t demand it. Empower people with the skills, support and tools to succeed individually and as a productive and happy team. This is what leads to being highly valued, respected and recognized in your work (and merit increases and promotions.)
