Location
This position is primarily based in Evansville, WI and will require occasion travel to Palmyra, WI.
Position Summary
As a staff accountant, you will prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger reconcilations, support accounting processes for inventory, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, assist with audits, and more. We are seeking a detail-oriented person who can multi-task and works well both individually and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General ledger reconciliations, specifically cash and inventory along with others.
- Prepare and post related journal entries and prepare supporting documentation during normal course of business
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Assist with year-end audit and all other audits as required which includes but is not limited to counting, researching, adjusting, and generating reports
- Prepare detailed schedules for management
- Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform scheduled cycle counts by reviewing documentation and verifying against perpetual stock in inventory.
- Identify process improvement and opportunities for change
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to improve efficiency and financial reporting accuracy
- Ad hoc projects as required
Minimum Qualifications of Candidate:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
Experience
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
· 1-3 years of experience in accounting preferred
- Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
- Strong research and reconciliation skills required
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required
- Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
· Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus

Schedule: This job will be in the office Monday thru Friday and hours range from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
