Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our IT team, focusing on Active Directory (AD), Exchange Server, and Azure Cloud technologies. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing, implementation, and maintenance of our AD, Exchange/M365, and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, with the ability to lead complex projects and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active Directory Administration:
- Lead the administration and optimization of the Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, replication, Group Policy and trust management.
- Good understanding of Active Directory migrations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot complex Active Directory issues and provide proactive solutions to ensure high availability and security.
- Understanding of Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and integrate with third-party applications and systems.
- Exchange Server Management:
- Lead the administration and optimization of on-premises and Exchange Online environments (Hybrid configurations).
- Oversee email system configurations, including security policies, mail flow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to email, mailbox management, hybrid configurations, and related services.
- Implement high availability and redundancy configurations to ensure uninterrupted email services.
- Understanding of Exchange migration strategies, both from legacy systems and for cloud migration.
- Azure Cloud Management:
- Lead the administration and management of Azure Active Directory (AAD) services, including user authentication, identity management, and security.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of Azure infrastructure (e.g., Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, etc.).
- Manage hybrid cloud integrations, including Azure AD Connect and Azure Site Recovery for disaster recovery solutions.
- Implement and manage security features like role-based access control (RBAC), identity protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) within Azure.
- Provide recommendations for improving cost efficiency, scalability, and performance within the Azure environment.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage security best practices for Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead efforts for auditing, monitoring, and incident response within AD, Exchange, and Azure environments.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work with other IT teams to design and implement integrated solutions, including identity management, collaboration tools, and business applications.
- Good understanding of server build and validation process
- Provide regular status updates, reports, and recommendations to senior management on the health, security, and performance of AD, Exchange, and Azure environments.
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for all processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Regular follow-up/escalation on aging tickets for any long-standing incidents to be closed on timely manner
- Good understanding of CIS Compliance for servers and Azure policies related to CIS compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory environments, including DNS, Group Policies, Federation Services, and AD replication.
- Expertise with Exchange Server (on-premises and hybrid) and Exchange Online, including mail flow, mailbox management, security, and migration strategies.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory, virtual machines, storage, networking, and security tools.
- Good understanding of security best practices for AD, Exchange, and Azure
- Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, including integrating on-premises systems with Azure and Exchange Online.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automating administrative tasks
- Proven track record of leading complex IT projects
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex technical issues in Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar certifications.
- Experience with third-party monitoring tools for AD, Exchange, and Azure environments.
- Familiarity with Office 365 administration, including Exchange and Azure.
- Experience with automation tools like Azure Automation, PowerShell.
- Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and high availability solutions for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Understanding of identity and access management principles in cloud environments.
