We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Defense Incident Consultant who have/had a Top Security Clearance/ SCI. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while also providing expert guidance to internal teams. Job will be performed onsite in Washington, DC
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze intrusion artifacts (e.g., malware, trojans, source code) to support mitigation efforts for potential cyber incidents.
- Provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense teams, assisting in the investigation and resolution of security events.
- Coordinate and lead incident response activities, ensuring comprehensive documentation and timely resolution.
- Monitor external threat intelligence sources (e.g., vendor updates, CERT alerts, security forums) to assess emerging threats and evaluate their impact on enterprise security.
- Conduct cyber threat trend analysis and deliver actionable reports to key stakeholders.
- Perform forensic acquisition and initial analysis of system images to support incident mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Investigate network alerts from various monitoring systems, determine root causes, and recommend remediation steps.
- Develop and publish detailed after-action reports, technical guidance, and documentation of cyber defense strategies and incident findings.
Required Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in cyber defense or a related technical discipline.
- Must have a Top Security Clearance/ SCI
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Security
- Industry-recognized certifications preferred (e.g., Network , Security , CISSP).
