Job Title : IT Project Manager
Work Location : Palo Alto, CA(4 Days onsite)
Position : Contract
Essential Duties :
- Manages assigned projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- 5 years' experience managing technical projects
- Collects and analyzes business requirements and user needs via interviews with internal customers.
- Defines the scope of work and tasks.
- Manages and tracks the project budget.
- Prepares bid specifications and manages bid evaluations.
- Manages complex procurements, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Manages and identifies time requirements for multiple resources including IT staff.
- Controls interactions and requirements between IT, Management, and other departments regarding projects.
- Coordinates activities with external vendors and internal customers.
- Provides consulting assistance and services to application users.
- Evaluates technology and business process efficiencies and solutions.
- Maintains a variety of records and documentation for assigned projects.
- Develops, prepares, and facilitates end-user training.
- Works with vendors on the installation and configuration of medium to large scale hardware and software products running on various computer systems.
- Participates in a variety of meetings, committees, and other related groups to receive and convey information regarding needs assessment, fulfillment, and usability.
- Possesses coaching and training skills.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualification to enter this position requires knowledge of the following :
Principles and practices of project management.Knowledge of telecommunication networks, with an emphasis on the deployment of fiber optic and wireless networks and associated equipment and electronics.Knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods used to deploy telecommunication networks.Prior experience in constructing inside and outside fiber optic plant and wireless infrastructure, including engineering design.Working understanding of GIS, network drawings and route maps.Knowledge of aerial and underground utilities in relation to California Public Utility Commission General Orders 95, 128 and 165.General knowledge of Assembly Bill 2987, the Digital Infrastructure and Video Competition Act of 2006 ("DIVCA").Experience in utility pole make-ready, pole replacements and rights-of-way management related to fiber and wireless network deployments in an "overbuild" market.Experience monitoring work production for large scale telecommunications network deployments.Working understanding of Internet Service Providers ("ISPs") providing voice, video, and data services in competitive markets.Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting the telecommunications industry.Solid understanding of networking, security, server, application, and database concepts.Enterprise Applications : Microsoft 365 and Microsoft SharePoint.Project Management Applications : Monday.com, Jira, TeamDynamix, or similar.Contract negotiation and administration.Conflict resolution techniques.Principles of budget development and monitoring including development of control measures to remain within budget.Qualification to enter this position requires skill in :

Sufficient education, training and / or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following
knowledge and skills, which would typically be acquired through :
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field and five years of progressivelyresponsible, professional Information Technology experience; or, an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience sufficient to successfully perform a particular subset of the essentialduties of the job such as those listed above.Certifications / Licenses / Special Requirements
A valid California Class C Driver License.PMP certification is preferred.A degree in Information Technology or equivalent certifications desirable
