Job Title: QA Tester
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Note - The Candidate who takes this role will spend their first 6 weeks (orientation) onsite, 5 days a week. After the orientation period, the Candidate in this role will be on a hybrid onsite schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week, at the same Boston location. The role could revert to full time onsite in Boston 5 days per week at any time. Candidates will ONLY be considered if they live local to Boston. Candidates who live more than 2 hours from downtown Boston will not be considered.
Job Description:
Agreeya is Global integrator and seeking a QA Tester. The main function of a QA Tester at this level is to apply test skills at a basic level. The QA Tester will perform repeatable testing procedures and may need to be familiar with programming languages. Carries out testing methods and equipment. Runs test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
Objective:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester is responsible for reviewing website applications for errors, checking that all functionality is operating properly, and final browser testing. The QA Tester is well versed in the full range of quality website standards, accessibility guidelines, and integrated business processes. He or she is comfortable managing the competing deadlines, personality styles, and expectations of a variety of business units. The QA Tester will collaborate with business stakeholders and business end users to improve the quality of systems by implementing and ensuring best practices for system testing.
The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, can quickly comprehend business needs, and has a willingness to solve complex, as well as simple tasks, with equal energy and excitement to provide the highest level of quality in every delivery. Expectations of the QA Tester may include the ability to create, organize, and implement a test strategy for any given application or large project, including integration, migration, regression, smoke testing, and proper documentation sign-off. Troubleshooting and detailed risk analysis may also be required to relay concerns and information to all involved parties in a clear, concise manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements documentation
- Define, author, and implement a universal standards-based test strategy
- Develop use cases and test plans for new websites or modifications
- Write and/or review software test plans and other technical documentation. Maintain the test plans and test materials for applications and manage end-user testing
- Review and update regression test plans to incorporate enhancements, bug fixes and updates
- Execute testing methodologies to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and information processing
- Review/recommend QA test tools and software products
- May manage and administer the problem/issue tracking software
- Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations
- Perform and lead tests to ensure that all systems meet minimum standards and requirements
- Communicate and resolve issues discovered during the test period
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business units to track and manage re-testing efforts for defects
- Document test results and generate reports. Coordinate and manage release readiness reviews
- Participate in production releases
- Analyze effectiveness of test activities and make recommendations to improve test process
- Mentor, direct and coach project team members on how to assess factors such as risk, value, efficiency, and quality of the development and how to report to leadership, stakeholders, and the development team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology, or 3-5 years of equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of software quality assurance experience in Windows and Mac environments
- Minimum 5 years of experience testing websites on all modern browsers and devices
- Experience in multiple forms of testing including, but not limited to: unit testing, performance testing, integration testing, manual testing, and experience with automated testing
- Understanding of the development and implementation of a Quality Assurance structure within an Agile and a Waterfall SDLC and has a working knowledge of best practices
- Experience assisting in defining and maturing QA practices, tools, and testing techniques within a team
- Experience in developing, supporting, and maintaining test strategies and test plans for functional UAT, end to end testing, regression testing and performance testing
- Knowledge of accessibility-compliant web standards
- Ability to proofread content
- Proactive identification of workflow inefficiencies and taking the initiative in devising and executing improvement plans
- Familiarity with standard project management methodologies and practices
- Prioritization of multiple tasks and projects while delivering results on schedule
- Good analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and time management skills
- Ability to complete all work tasks in a timely manner while remaining open to competing demands and adjusted priorities
- A highly motivated individual characterized by respect, a positive work ethic, and intellectual agility; capable of performing efficiently under tight schedules and shifting priorities
- High interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including executives, managers, IT professionals, and subject matter experts
- Experience with automated testing tools, such as UiPath, a plus
- Knowledge of C# and SQL, a plus
- Experience with a version control system, a plus
