POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in the overall management of processing, warehousing, and distribution at the designated plant. Leads plant operations, warehousing, and shipping teams to produce high-quality products, on-time shipping, and low customer service complaints. This position is part of the location leadership team and will work to ensure location operating, continuous improvement, and safety goals are accomplished.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in the overall management of processing, warehousing, and distribution at the designated plant. Leads plant operations, warehousing, and shipping teams to produce high-quality products, on-time shipping, and low customer service complaints. This position is part of the location leadership team and will work to ensure location operating, continuous improvement, and safety goals are accomplished.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists the location manager as required in all areas of operations
- Lead continuous improvement data collection and implementation of projects and activities to increase efficiency and productivity for the location
- Recruit, develop, and coach regular and seasonal staff as needed
- Track and report new crop bagging, rebag, and retag progress to upper management
- Partner with supervisors to create, manage, and communicate shift schedules as needed for conditioning and warehouse
- Cross-functional knowledge and participation in field activities, e.g., planting, scouting, harvest, and others as assigned by site management
- Lead and develop I.Q., conditioning, shipping, and warehouse teams
- Communicate treating and packaging supply needs to procurement contact
- Review, maintain, and ensure adherence to all QMS programs
- Work with Location Manager to create and monitor annual facility budgets
- Work with field management/agronomy and manage growing areas as needed
- Lead root cause analysis of any seed loss and Customer Service Calls at the site
- Participate in the hiring process of full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff as needed
- Act as the local lead for new employee onboarding
- Responsible for engaging the team, implementing the engagement action plan, and leading engagement conversations
- Take an active role in employee performance reviews, reviewing merit increases, training, and development of employees as well as communicating disciplinary actions
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of equipment
- Assume leadership role in AgReliant’s safety culture and ensure safety standards are being followed in the workplace
- Responsible for projecting a positive image AgReliant Genetics and acting in accordance with the Company’s Core Values
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural or business-related field required
- 2 or more years of previous management/leadership experience
- 3 or more years of seed industry experience (or related industry)
- Technical knowledge of plant, agronomy, field, and warehousing operations
- Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team-building skills
- Excellent organization and planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to prioritize tasks in an organized and time-efficient way to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create effective and efficient communication tools for all audiences; establishes clear objectives and timelines for work; good listener
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as individually
- Ability to think strategically
- Ability to develop and maintain site budgets
- Ability to coordinate and complete projects on time and within budget/scope
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet MVR Requirements
- Ability to work required hours and shifts
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Variable environmental working conditions (Office, Warehouse, and Field)
- Ability to travel up to 10% with some overnight travel required
