Director of Communications

Summary:

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking a Director of Communications to develop effective messaging and communication strategies by providing leadership, strategic vision, and oversight to AgReserves’ internal and external communications. The Comms Director serves as a voice for the company and protects and builds relationships with key vendors, government officials, and the public at large.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement comprehensive communications strategies that support the company’s direction by creating targeted communications for internal employees, the public, media, and government entities.
• Oversee the creation of informative materials for use in public and internal communications.
• Ensure consistent messaging and branding through all forms of communication to enhance our brand reputation a cross all channels.
• Cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with internal audiences as well as targeted external, including key vendors, public and government officials, the investment community, and the public at large.
• Serve as a spokesperson and point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization.
• Exercise judgment in prioritizing public awareness opportunities; prepare and maintain talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material.
• Guide internal communications by providing counsel to senior leaders, creating sustainable leadership-driven communications within various functions, and maintaining clear and relevant content for internal audiences.
• Enhance employee engagement by creating and executing communication plans, utilizing intranet content, digital signage, video, social media and print materials.
• Work with various media forms, including press releases, digital campaigns, print, e-communication, audio, and video.
• Lead and mentor the communication team.
• Effectively manage company websites and executive social media profiles.
• Guide emergency response communications to crises or setbacks promptly while maintaining consistency in messaging.
• Collaborate with creative production partners to ensure timely and high-quality execution and communications initiatives.
• Develop effective internal communications ranging from board meetings to staff engagements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 8 years’ recent experience in communication roles with demonstrated progressive career growth with crisis communication and media relations experience.
• Professional certifications in communications (i.e. CMP, GPP, CMM) preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to analyze and interpret communication metrics to inform strategy.
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products, digital communications tools and platforms.
• Solid strategic and cross-functional partnering skills.
• Familiarity with project management best practices, methodologies, and tools.
• Strong demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• This is an in-office position; eligible candidates must be willing and able to work at the Salt Lake City Headquarters daily.
• Ability to travel to various US and International farm locations and offices, up to 15%.
