Summary:
AgriNorthwest is seeking a hard-working Field Technician to join our local farm team. A successful Field Technician becomes proficient in operating a variety of farm equipment and assists in obtaining representative soil and plant samples for fertility and pest diagnostic procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily sampling tasks with minimal supervision using proper techniques.

- Maintain representation in the collection process of all sampling; recognize if a sample site needs to be relocated due to changes that are not representable to the rest of the field.
•
- Repair, rebuild, service, prepare for production operations, and upkeep cleanliness of farm equipment, ATVs and sampling vehicles.
•
- Become familiar with the farm equipment and property to accurately navigate the fields throughout the farms.
•
- Take initiative to solve and analyze problems; find ways to continually improve processes and efficiencies.
•
- Assist special sampling such as multi-depth, moisture, and biological soil samples and other special projects.
•
- Accurately log all samples at the lab.
•
- Become familiar with MSDS sheets, pesticide labels and application notification procedures and champion the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
•
- Collaborate on seasonal tasks and cross train across different departments.
•
- Champion a safety culture by keeping current with all safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures and attending all trainings; verify all devices are functioning at all times including lockout-tagout procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating farm equipment and using GPS guidance systems.
- A valid, in-state driver's license with good safety record.
- First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Mechanical aptitude. Trade school or other relevant education desired.
- Demonstrated display of high integrity and honesty.
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role which includes regularly lifting 50lbs and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds, bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout work period. Occasional long-term standing, sitting, and walking during work.
- Willing and able to work outside in year-round weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain as well as an average of 45-50hours per week, which may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
