Position Description:
2nd Shift Coordinator will assist day shift Supervisors in ensuring standard practices are followed throughout the second shift with regard to safety, quality, and production. The coordinator will also work with a sense of urgency in a smart, efficient, and effective manner to create and oversee the execution of the daily plan and position their team for success.
Essential Functions
This position’s essential include, but are not limited to:
- Communicates all issues or concerns daily to 1st shift supervisor. through email/verbally.
- Shows a high attention to detail, and safety.
- Supports and/or backs up departmental team leaders.
- Acts as emergency coordinator along with 2nd shift maintenance support for weather-related events, fire, etc. and manages major incidents including, but not limited to: personal medical; on-the-job injury; property or equipment damage; incident & forklift investigation reports; emergency weather; emergency evacuation; conflict management and resolution; policy or rule violations.
- Performs security checks of facility, doors, parking lots & other exterior areas and locks down the plant at the end of shift or when needed.
- Weigh counts items set off from the setups from changeovers.
- Works with day shift supervisors, to know and understand the plan for night shift.
- Touch base with team leaders in each area to ensure operators are meeting goals, following individual production boards.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
- Performs quality checks as time allows while performing production checks.
- Verifies operators and team leaders are utilizing check sheets.
- Fill out the 2nd Shift Recap file (located in Team lead drive) showing what employees are present and what jobs they are performing
- Has a physical presence in the departments to help field questions, checking on hr. x hr. boards and or efficiency, and performing quality checks
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Work Environment
- Subject to hot temperatures.
- May be subject to loud working environment that require PPE.
