Position Overview:
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Agri Industries, Inc., you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our fleet of mobile equipment. You will be responsible for performing both shop repairs and field repairs at various remote locations. This position is ideal for candidates who are self-driven and able to work autonomously while maintaining high standards of work quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with mobile heavy equipment across our construction operations.
- Perform repairs on-site at remote job locations when transporting equipment to the main shop is not feasible.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, mechanical technicians, and management to provide updates and support during repair processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repair procedures, materials used, and labor hours to ensure consistency in future work and for reporting purposes.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in mobile construction equipment.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior technicians and support staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in heavy equipment repair.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on mobile equipment to reduce the likelihood of unplanned repairs.
- Ensure the proper tracking of maintenance schedules and ensure that no equipment is overlooked during its maintenance rotation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in mobile heavy equipment.
- Completion of a technical certification program in mobile heavy equipment repair or a related field.
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair or a similar mechanical position.
