Job Summary:
A safety manager is responsible for monitoring the working conditions to ensure that all activity is compliant with state and federal safety regulations. The safety manager is responsible for ensuring the enforcement of company health and safety guidelines, inspecting workspaces to ensure they are up to safety standards and providing workplace safety training.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
- Trains employees in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures
- Designs methods for appraising safety conditions in the all-work areas
- Inspects working conditions to ensure all workers and activities are compliant with safety guidelines
- Orders safety gear and supplies for the workplace
- Ensures all safety training material stay up to date on new HSE regulations
- Consults with General Manager regarding implementation of new safety procedures
- Addresses workplace-related health issues and accidents
- Processes workers compensation documentation
- Develops, writes, and revises company safety handbook and other material
- Ensures timely processing of workers’ compensation claims
- Evaluates incident/accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness
- Ensures the company is in compliance with all applicable workers’ compensation laws and regulations
- Provides training and guidance on all workers’ compensation filing procedures
- Advises and assists supervisors in conducting incident investigations and completing reports
- Reviews incident reports to identify patterns of injury and determine if unsafe conditions were contributors to incidents
- Acts as liaison with designated medical provider and workers’ compensation claims adjusters
- Maintain files on all injuries for required period of time
- Responsible for registering, planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the company's fleet program for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles
- Oversees all commercial vehicles, drivers, and related assets, including their operations, conditions, external and internal policy compliance, and overall performance
- Primary contact for the company's vehicle fleet and operations
- Ensures that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday (Saturday and Sunday) as needed
- Professional Dress: Agri logo button down shirts and clean jeans

- Communication: 24hour turn around on all emails, texts, or phone call responses
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education):
High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
OSHA certification (Preferred)
Previous work experience in the HSE field (Preferred)
Management experience (Preferred)

- Demonstrate broad knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Time will be spent on the job site monitoring conditions and inspecting products and in an office setting processing paperwork. Job sites may be hazardous or pose serious threats in emergency situations. Proper safety gear must be worn at all times. Travel to satellite offices will be required. Standard 40-hour workweek applies.
