Job Description:
Agri-Mark/Cabot Creamery is seeking a skilled Wastewater Technician with a strong background in maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in wastewater treatment operations and be able to perform maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient and continuous operation of the wastewater treatment facility. This role is vital in maintaining system performance and ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations.
This is a first shift 12-hour (6am-6pm) Operator. Schedule for the 12 hour shift is a 4-on-4-off rotation. Eligible for increases every 6 months for the first two years of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and filters.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and systems to prevent malfunctions.
- Assist in repairing and replacing damaged parts, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Perform inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and water quality.
- Ensure proper operation of chemical dosing systems and other treatment processes.
- Respond to emergency situations, including system failures or unexpected shutdowns.
- Work closely with other technicians and facility staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to safety protocols and report any potential hazards to supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or facility manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or related associate degree preferred.
- Proven experience in wastewater treatment operations or maintenance, ideally in an industrial or municipal setting.
- Dairy 1 or 2 Wastewater license is preferred
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Familiar with chemicals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills to enter data and generate reports.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., outdoors, confined spaces).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and perform tasks in challenging environments.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

- Competitive salary based on experience: Starting rates range from $26.99-$30.76. Placement in range is based on skill/knowledge. There are multiple levels of maintenance within the range and above the range and a lot of opportunity to learn and grow. Plus, there is a 7-10% night differential (based on actual hours worked; 3p-11p is eligible for 7%, and -11p-7a is eligible for 10% night differential) with increases every 6 months for 2 years (based on performance).
