**About the Role:**
A seasoned Grain Merchandising Expert is sought after by AGRI-SEARCH to lead the merchandising charge at their Illinois grain facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving profitability and ensuring smooth grain flow across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- 100% of grain merchandising responsibilities, with support from the General Manager as needed.
- Maintaining a pulse on market position, executing hedging strategies, and serving as the go-to expert in marketing information.
- Communicating regularly with all locations regarding pricing and purchasing grain information, including working closely with team members who require guidance.
- Cultivating team members' knowledge of HTA's and basic contracts, assisting them in discussing these topics with farmers.
- Assisting with rail settlements, collaborating with an office teammate on this task.
About the Candidate:
- The successful applicant will possess at least 5-10 years of experience in grain merchandising, with rail experience being highly advantageous, along with a Series 3 license.
- A Bachelor's degree in Ag Economics/Ag Business or a related field is preferred.
- The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to constantly analyze truck versus rail markets, and possess the ability to work independently, making key decisions without committee involvement.
