Retail Stocker
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for making sure that customers have access to the merchandise they are looking for by organizing product displays and storage.
- Replenishes inventory in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Straighten shelf inventory so labels face out and merchandise is neat, orderly and is easy to shop.
- Checks condition and prices of stock on shelf as stock is being replenished. Rotates older stock the front of the shelf.
- Marks identifying codes, figures, price tags or letters on merchandise
- Move, handle, and transport finished products, material, or supplies to other departments by utilizing hand jacks, lift carts, and other means of transportation
- Provide customer service while working in a visible space on the floor
- Determines methods of storage, identification and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
- Maintains inventory and other stock records.
- Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards (including backroom and shelves), and dispose of trash
- Help and assist customers in finding merchandise and providing them with information
- Any and all other duties assigned by management
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Effective time management
- Background with agricultural products and environment helpful
- Previous retail experience helpful but not required
- Must have reliable transportation to work
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills a plus
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand for long hours and be able to lift heavy merchandise
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Additional Notes
- This position reports directly to the store manager but will receive instruction from leads, training coordinator, and other store management.
- The environment of this position is a retail warehouse, there will be dust and dirt due to the products we sell
- Hours can vary depending on shifts assigned but mainly this job is 2p-10p
- Saturday availability is required
