Agri-Valley Communications, Inc. (AVCI) is the parent company of Thumb Cellular, Pigeon Telephone, AVS Broadband and the AVS Tech Team. Headquartered in Pigeon, Michigan, the family-owned corporation is focused on providing communication and technology services to rural Michigan communities, including those in the Thumb and Northern regions of the state. Currently, we have an opening at Thumb Cellular in Pigeon for a Billing Specialist.
The Billing Specialist is responsible for providing service and support to customers and staff through personal interaction, telephone conversations, online chat and email messages. The Billing Specialist must maintain current knowledge of Thumb Cellular products, services, policies and procedures in order to assist customers in a timely and accurate manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes service orders, reviews, adjusts and reprints held bills using the billing system.
- Assists with customer port requests.
- Troubleshoots issues with service orders, devices and software as well as provide daily customer service to internal and external customers.
- Reviews and/or researches revenue assurance reports as required.
- Obtains detailed credit reports on prospective customers to determine risk factors and review Red Flag inquiries.
- Maintains knowledge of manual switch interface and other provisioning tools.
- Maintains auto pay accounts and archives documents for both ACH and credit cards.
- Provides assistance to other departments, including but not limited to customer care, sales, finance/accounting and inventory.
- Creates and maintains procedure manual for duties.
- Consistently follows all CPNI and Red Flag regulations.
- Prepares and maintains weekly/monthly reports as needed.
- Performs job duties within Company health and safety requirements.
- Other duties as requested or required by management.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to other Thumb Cellular stores may be required.
Work Environment: This position operates indoors in a professional office environment. Dress should be appropriate and follow company dress code.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time regular position. Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with some Saturday 9a to 12p shifts required.
