US Agronomic Project & Data Manager for Sustainability

AgriThority is seeking a skilled and passionate Agronomy Project Manager to spearhead sustainability and farmer focused projects. This professional will be the driving force fostering the adoption of climate-smart practices among farmers, leading to positive environmental change and value for the farmers and their processor/supply chain.


Responsibilities and Qualifications


Full-time farmer-facing field agronomist professional with solid agricultural background, experience working with farmers, and a drive for sustainability. Key qualifications include:

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or a related crop production specialist with a minimum of four years of experience working directly with farmers. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of soil health, climate-smart practices, and precision agriculture with data collection, analysis and reporting capabilities. Knowledge and implementation within the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) standards.
  • Data Management: Experience with agricultural crop production and soil health data as well as project management software
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with farmers and project partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Farmer Engagement: Build relationships with engaged farmers, providing on-site agronomic support of climate-smart practices in the North Central Midwest. Assure Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) standards are understood and deployed while creating a sense of community among all participants. Farmer interviews, data collection, practice assessment including technical guidance
  • Data Management: Overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance to meet project requirements as established by management. Collection and reporting will include georeferenced soil sampling, harvest yield, economic data and other supply chain information related to sustainability. Use of standardized data collection templated and tools for accurate and efficient reporting.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborating with all stakeholders, farmers and commodity processors, for smooth project implementation.
  • Training and Education: Developing and delivering technical training programs on climate-smart practices meeting NRCS practice standards. Plan and manage logistics for field days in conjunction with marketing and event planning groups.

·        Travel: Extensive travel within the assigned territory for on-farm visits, with occasional national travel. Initial states include MN, IA, IL, IN, and OH
