What the Role Delivers
Maintain scheduled contact with assigned customers to ensure proper application of company products, maintain company equipment, and help in the identification and problem solving of fruit and vegetables problems and application services during harvest.
Key Responsibilities
In order of relative importance
- Develop, build and install application equipment
- Assist service staff resolving technical issues with application equipment
- Source materials and equipment needed for installations
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Directly support Packers by monitoring fruit/vegetable processing and conditioning lines
- Monitor and optimize fungicide, cleaner and coatings applications in packing houses
- Perform routine verification of packing house sanitation practices for prevention of postharvest decay
- Implement trials for development of emerging Pace products as well as current products
- Write reports on packing house monitoring programs
- Review current and proposed industry practices
- Maintain positive relationships with Pace employees, customers and other contacts
- Occasional overnight travel and early morning or late evening hours.
- Mixing and monitoring of postharvest products including but not limited to wax, fungicides, sanitizers, & cleaners.
- Train Pace distributor sales and technical personnel
- Assist in the development and costing of BOMs to support sales staff

What the Job Requires
- AA or Technical degree, work experience considered in lieu of degree
- Mechanical aptitude for application equipment installations and repair
- Fabrication skills, cutting and welding
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Computer literate including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Clean driving record mandatory
What to Have Done and Know How to Do
These skills and experiences are highly desirable; however, they do not preclude exceptions based on an individuals performance history and demonstrated potential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- History of Customer and internal customer focus and success
- Mechanical aptitude or equipment experience especially in Ag post-harvest industry a plus
