Job: Full Time - Senior Fermentation Manufacturing Plant Technician - AgroSpheres INC

As the plant comes fully operational this Spring, we are looking for a senior Plant Technician to join our growing team.

Position: Senior Fermentation Manufacturing Plant Technician– Experience working with Utilities equipment, boilers & pressure vessels.

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Responsibilities:

·     Primary Responsibility: Utilities equipment (Electric Boiler, air compressor, chiller, water systems, steam) management and operations.

·     Responsible for management and operations of all Utilities equipment at the Fermentation Manufacturing Facility (Electric Boiler, air compressor, chiller, water systems, steam).

·     Implementing and monitoring Preventive Maintenance Systems for the utilities systems and pressure vessles.

·     Working with vendors, mechanics, electricians and county to manage maintenance, facility improvements and inspections.

·     Giving "hands on" instruction in basic maintenance and trouble-shooting procedures as well as developing and mentoring Facilities Team Members

·     Operating utilities equipment

·     Preferred: Establishing standard operating protocols for operating utilities equipment and training staff on the SOPs

·     Supervisory responsibilities, working in conjunction with fermentation supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

·     Must be 21 years of age or older.

·     High school diploma or equivalent.

·     Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing facility or working with Utilities systems: boilers, chillers, air compressors, water systems.

·     Preferred: Facilities maintenance management experience

·     Excellent communication skills.

·     Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

·     Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting moderate to heavy weights, and using hand tools with dexterity, requiring good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to perform tasks in tight spaces while sometimes working in awkward positions; they may also be exposed to noise, grease, and other industrial elements depending on the work environment.
• Lifting and carrying: Regularly lifting and moving objects ranging from light tools to heavy machine parts.
• Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders.
• Manual dexterity: Precise hand movements to operate tools, tighten bolts, and manipulate small parts.
• Reaching and bending: Reaching into tight areas and bending to access components of machinery.
• Visual acuity: Clear near and far vision to read gauges, inspect parts, and identify potential issues.
• Hearing acuity: Ability to hear machinery sounds to detect malfunctions.
