What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Artist II position at AGS - American Gaming Systems?
The Technical Artist II will join our team-oriented group of creative people in the Game Design Department. The Technical Artist role is the hub between various disciplines to assemble games inside the Unity Game engine. This role is responsible for assembly of game assets inside of Unity and works as a conduit between the Art team and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Assembly and organization of many game assets. Primarily visual elements.
- Runtime animation inside of Unity. May include 2D/3D character rigging and animation, particle animation, dynamic elements such as player facing messaging and UI.
- Sequencing of runtime choreography for game elements and transitions between scenes.
- Generating in-engine/runtime special effects.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to the ever-changing environment of a fast-growing company.
Skills/Requirements
- Portfolio required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Media Art and Animation or equivalent work experience
- Mid-level technical artist with 2-3 years of Experience
- Create tools for the graphics team
- Ability to accurately rig 2d/3d characters
- Photoshop / illustrator / After Effects proficiency
- Maya or other 3D program experience.
