Paratransit Driver

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and efficient transportation services, particularly in the context of senior care and child transportation. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service, ensuring that all passengers feel comfortable and secure during their journey.

Duties

• Safely operate a vehicle to transport seniors, children, or individuals with special needs to various destinations.
• Provide assistance to passengers as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle.
• Educate passengers about safety protocols and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing regular inspections to ensure safety standards are met.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, families, and team members to provide updates on schedules or any changes.
• Document daily activities, including mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents that may occur during transport.
• Assist in the planning of routes to optimize travel time while ensuring passenger comfort and safety.
• This is a Part-time position only

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license/Chauffeur with a clean driving record.
• Pay attention to details.
• Experience in senior care or working with children is highly desirable.
• Previous experience as a van driver or in paratransit services is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• DOT physical card (able to obtain one)
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift
• Rotating weekends
• Split shift
• Weekends as needed

Ability to Commute:

• Southfield, MI 48076 (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Southfield, MI 48076: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
