ROLE HIGHLIGHTS
AgSource is looking for a hands-on Supervisor that understands production and receiving processes within a plant / manufacturing setting. This role will provide the opportunity to lead a small team of full-time employees as well as seasonal staff during our busy months (October-January). We are seeking a leader with mechanical aptitude and a willingness to get their hands dirty...we conduct soil sample testing, so this is a given! We need someone to identify areas of opportunity in our SOP's and make recommendations that not only keep us in compliance with USDA regulations but also help our employees enjoy their jobs!
This role will require onsite presence at our Lincoln, NE location. If you are not located in / around Lincoln, NE, you must be open to relocation.
JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Production Supervisor is to plan, direct and coordinate activities relating to laboratory production such as sample entry, daily production schedule and provide services relating to general building support. This position will also manage, monitor and maintain sample quarantine processes and meet USDA audit criteria.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide positive communication with laboratory staff on daily production load.
- Train Laboratory Associates on current quarantine procedures.
- Provide direction, coaching and leadership to designated staff to ensure timely, and accurate sample turnaround to our customers.
- Foster a team-based and collaborative environment.
- Interview, hire and schedule personnel to adequately staff the designated positions.
- Assist the Site Manager with evaluating, planning and scheduling seasonal temporary staffing needs.
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and conduct employee coaching sessions.
- Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner in accordance with the performance review process.
