Position: Farm Hand/ Equipment Operator
Pay: Competitive based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate custom application equipment to apply crop protection products (fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc.) to fields in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Safely operate and maintain applicator equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and other machinery, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and functioning at optimal levels.
- Calibrate equipment for correct application rates and ensure uniform coverage to meet customer requirements.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe handling, mixing, and application of chemicals. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Accurately document all application activities, including chemicals used, application rates, field conditions, and any other relevant information.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, provide updates on application progress, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime during application seasons.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient scheduling, job completion, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional agricultural or machinery-related certifications are a plus.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with appropriate endorsements or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid Pesticide Applicator's License or the ability to maintain licensing.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and ensure accuracy in all applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Flexibility to work long hours during peak seasons (spring and fall).
