Position Summary
We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our West Region Team in the Ipswich, Bowdle, Herreid, McLaughlin, and Faulkton, South Dakota and Strasburg, North Dakota area. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, mentoring, training, and leading the sales team within the assigned region. This role oversees a sales team whose primary focus is to build long-term relationships through value-based selling of our cooperative's products and services. The Regional Sales Manager will guide the team to align with company objectives and work closely with the Regional Operations team to achieve overall goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and marketing programs to enhance efficiency and profitability for the cooperative and our customers, while building and directing initiatives for the regional team.
- Establish sales goals and budgets in conjunction with the Vice President of Agronomy Sales for crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision ag as well as other products and services that are sold by the sales agronomists.
- Create and support performance plans, sales goals, and training for Area Sales Managers and Sales Agronomists, including compensation and recognition programs.
- Coach and motivate team members to meet performance standards through coaching, feedback, goal setting, communicating and maintaining fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
- Provide leadership in managing team performance, including setting measurable goals, tracking metrics, and holding employees accountable.
- Coordinate sales and marketing training for Area Sales Managers and Sales Agronomists in the use of crop nutrients, seed, crop protections products and other products and services.
- Lead Area Sales Managers, Sales Agronomists and Location Managers in maximizing producer and location profitability.
- Provide training and support to assigned Area Sales Managers, Sales Agronomists, and Location Managers including sales call reporting, farm call processes, program rollout and utilization.
- Evaluate and assist with the recruitment and placement of Area Sales Managers, Sales Agronomists, and sales agronomy interns for our cooperative.
- Utilize available data systems for reporting and monitoring sales progress.
- Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program, and DOT regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in agriculture or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight (8) years of related experience.
- Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of managerial experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- English Proficiency
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Crop Advisor Certification
- CDL
