JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Education and Outreach Coordinator will work as part of the Tribal Family Services team to develop and execute educational and outreach opportunities for Tribal members and their families. This role involves coordinating and/or facilitating educational activities, engaging with the community members through events, and developing outreach materials to promote the department's initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
- This role involves coordinating and/or facilitating educational activities, engaging with the community members through events.
- Research and develop outreach and prevention campaigns for various demographics within the Native American community.
- Write and design promotional materials such as brochures and flyers to advertise and promote the department's initiatives.
- Compile estimates for outreach supplies in accordance with grant budgets.
- Order educational supplies and promotional materials for events while adhering to budget and inventory policies.
- Assist with scheduling and attending outreach activities, both in-house and with network providers.
- Create activity reports and other required documents for program planning and execution.
- Cultivate relationships with tribal administration and service providers for outreach programming.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Program Director and staff.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Marketing, Creative Writing, Design, Communications, etc.) or equivalent preferred.
- Valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate clear public speaking skills
- Strong English written and verbal communication skill set. Ability to relate to all levels of management, Tribal Membership, visitors and employees in verbal/written form.
- Must have good PC skills with intermediate ability to use MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Canva and Adobe DC.
- Experience in outreach or prevention education
- Familiarity with or experience in working with Tribal members and/or Tribal families
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing, stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Also, may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.
Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and /or carry otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
