We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sales & Membership Associate to join the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, a non-profit organization in Carlsbad, CA. This is a full time position.
As the Sales & Membership Associate, you will play a pivotal role in recruiting new members to our Discovery Campus, supporting the growth of our gift shop, and creating a welcoming, enthusiastic atmosphere for all visitors. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of leadership / managerial experience, be quick on their feet, and have a passion for customer service. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within our team to meet membership goals and generate excitement about our mission.
With a competitive salary of $19 - $23 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to have an impact on the community in the Carlsbad area. Compensation in the form of quarterly bonuses may be available for the right candidate who meets and exceeds recruitment goals. Opportunities for promotion to Assistant Manager or Manager are available within a year, based on performance.
Compensation : 19 - $23 hourly
Responsibilities :
- Actively engage visitors, members, and the general public to promote the membership program and recruit new members. Meet and exceed monthly membership recruitment goals with a focus on retention and long-term engagement.
- Drive sales and increase traffic in the gift shop by providing excellent customer service, offering products aligned with our mission, and promoting memberships as part of the checkout experience.
- Deliver an exceptional, personalized experience for all visitors, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of our center and are motivated to support our cause.
- Direct volunteers and staff on daily projects, and facilitate animal interactions with guests. Delegate work and make decisions based on the needs of the Campus.
- After adequate training and experience, provide independent oversight and management of weekend staff and volunteers, managing rentals, customer service, and other duties without the presence of additional management.
- Use computer systems to access information, process daily business, print reports, create advertisements and posters, and maintain files.
- Provide guidance to staff and volunteers for the daily care of live animals, maintaining the standards set by the Director of the Discovery Campus.
- Support the design and maintenance of interpretive exhibits.
- Attend to the general upkeep of the Discovery Campus through daily and weekly checks of the grounds noting any changes, needed improvements, or discrepancies from the set standards of the facility.
