What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Plant Operator position at Agua Special Utility District?
Duties:
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and systems
- Monitor and adjust chemical dosages to ensure proper treatment
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests to analyze wastewater quality
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning tanks and replacing filters
- Keep accurate records of plant operations and maintenance activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to build, plumb, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment
- Proficient in basic math for calculations and measurements
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Note: Prior experience as a Wastewater Operator or in a similar role is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
